Bizarre ‘fake’ Melania Trump conspiracy theory returns after press conference

Donald Trump tweeted his fury over "deranged" conspiracy theories that the First Lady has a body double only last month.

But despite the president's protestations the bizarre claims have resurfaced yet again this time over a White House press confernece.

This time a new video showing Melania Trump standing next to her husband as he addresses reporters sparked the odd theory.

The First Lady can clearly be seen in sunglasses as she watches her husband claim to be the "most transparent president ever".

But something seemed to have some convinced the clearly baseless claim was true.

The Sun reported that one viewer tweeted: “I have never believed in a conspiracy more than the one that Melania was killed and replaced by a stand-in.

“Who the hell is that?! That is not Melania Trump.”

Another said: Who is that woman standing behind Trump because it is straight up not Melania?”

The conspiracy theory has sparked a furious White House reaction in the past.

Melania’s spokeswoman and communications director Stephanie Grisham attacked told CNN in March: “Once again, we find ourselves consumed with a ridiculous non-story when we could be talking about the work the First Lady is doing on behalf of children, including the opioid crisis that is gripping our nation.”

Husband Donald also tweeted his fury after the claims resurfaced following a visit to Alabama.

He said: "The Fake News photoshopped pictures of Melania, then propelled conspiracy theories that it’s actually not her by my side in Alabama and other places.

"They are only getting more deranged with time!"
