Moment giant rabbit loses to human competitive eater in salad chowing contest

A giant rabbit that loves lettuce didn’t have the appetite to chow down during a contest with a human competitive eater over who could consume more salad.

Honey ‘Mega’ Bunny froze when confronted with a plate full of salad alongside Raina Huang, who has been a competitive eater for four years.

Huang scarfed down 3.5 pounds of chopped salad in just 10 minutes, as Honey didn’t even take a taste. Seeing Honey’s head was not in the game, the contest organizers allowed another rabbit, Precious, to help out. But Precious also did not take a single bite.

In one photo, a referee was shown lifting Huang’s right arm pronouncing her the winner, as Honey and Precious sat on the table looking on, uninterested in the greens.

The rabbits’ embarrassing loss did not shock their owner and Giant Flemish rabbit breeder Louis Moses.

‘Rabbits are not scarfers. They’re not like dogs, just scarf it down quickly. They’re nibblers. They nibble all day, all night,’ Moses said, according to the New York Post. ‘So they eat decent amounts, but over a period of time.’

Huang, who doesn’t eat salads besides at eating contests, said she was not watching her furry competitors.

‘It was more of like a challenge to myself. When I do contests and challenges, usually I don’t really pay attention too much to what competitors do,’ Huang said. ‘I think the best for me is just to see the best of what I can do.’
