US reaches new milestone with 100million Americans fully vaccinated

The US reached a new milestone in its massive coronavirus vaccination campaign with 100million Americans fully vaccinated.

It is nearly double the 55million Americans who were fully vaccinated in March, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced in a press conference on Friday morning.

‘That’s 100million Americans with piece of mind knowing their decision to get vaccinated protects not just themselves but also protecting their families, their friends, their communities,’ President Joe Biden’s Covid-19 response coordinator Jeff Zients said.

Zients also brought up the CDC’s guidance on Tuesday that Americans who are fully vaccinated can go outside without wearing masks unless they are in crowds with strangers.

The country administered 220million doses of Covid-19 vaccines in the first 100 days of the Biden administration, surpassing the president’s goal of 200million in that time frame.

More than 300million vaccine doses have been distributed across the country, according to the CDC.

‘This represents significant progress and cause for hope. We know we have more work to do. In the weeks and months ahead, we’ll continue to build on progress we made in our first 100 days,’ Zients said.
