MCO extended in KL, Selangor, Johor and Penang until March 4

PETALING JAYA (THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) – The movement control order (MCO) will be extended in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Johor and Penang from Feb 19 until March 4, said Senior Minister for Security Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday (Feb 16), he also said that Kedah, Perak, Negri Sembilan, Melaka, Pahang, Terengganu, Kelantan, Putrajaya, Labuan and Sabah will be placed under the conditional MCO from Feb 19 until March 4.

Perlis has been placed under the recovery MCO, also from Feb 19 until March 4.

Datuk Seri Ismail said the 10km radius travel limit within the same district has been lifted. This is regardless of whether the states are under the MCO, the conditional MCO or the recovery MCO.

However, inter-district and interstate travel restrictions are still in place, he said.

He added that states under the MCO still have a restriction of two people in a car, while the other states have no restrictions on the number of people in a vehicle, based on its capacity.
