Repeal of India's farm laws shows govt susceptible to public pressure: Analysts

NEW DELHI – Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is seen as a popular and decisive leader, backed by a strong parliamentary majority to take tough decisions.

So his supporters were deeply disappointed when he backtracked last week on three farm laws because he said he could not convince a section of Indian farmers.
