Attacker filmed mimicking disabled homeless woman before assaulting her

This sickening footage shows a woman mocking a disabled rough sleeper in the street before beating her up with her sister.

Katie Thomasson, 24, and Molly, 21, repeatedly kicked and punched Jodie Gillett in the face in Worcester city centre.

CCTV footage does not clearly show the attack, which left the victim with bruising on her face, a broken nose and a smashed eye socket.

But Katie can be seen throwing an object at Jodie, 37, and mocking her by doing a ‘hunchback’ impression in the middle of the street.

She then stormed towards Jodie, grabbed her by the hair and punched her several times in the face before Molly joined in, Worcester Crown Court heard.

Jodie, who suffers from curvature of the spine, pleaded ‘Leave me alone, please stop’ as the pair attacked.

She was found by officers lying on the ground ‘covered in blood’ and spent two days in hospital recovering from the attack, which happened on March 16.

Last week the sisters, both from Worcester, were jailed for causing grievous bodily harm.

Katie was caged for two-and-a-half years while Molly was handed a two-year prison sentence.

Judge Robert Juckes QC said the attack went on for a ‘considerable time’, which ‘would have seemed to the victim like forever’.

He told the pair the ugliest part of the incident was that they knew Jodie was disabled and mocked her for it.

The judge added: ‘That performance you put up was so grossly insulting you must have winced to watch it as anyone would.’

After Katie ‘lost all self-control’, the court heard how Molly joined in with the violence instead of trying to pull her away, which Judge Juckes described as ‘very serious offending’.

Police officers chased after the duo, who were initially part of a group or four or five other people.

The siblings said their victim provoked the attack with nasty comments about the cot death of Katie’s baby four years ago.

Jodie accepted that she called Katie a ‘slag’ but denies saying anything about the loss of her child.
