Baby Archie update: Where will Meghan Markle and Harry share new Archie picture?

Meghan Markle, 38, and Prince Harry, 35, are spending lockdown is Los Angeles with their son Archie Harrison and are expected to remain in the USA for the foreseeable future. While the couple have kept a low profile in recent weeks they are expected to break cover to share an adorable new photo of Archie when he turns one on May 6.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry amassed a huge following on Instagram during their time as senior royals with more than 11 million followers.

However, on the eve of their step down from royal life they bid goodbye to their Sussex Royal Instagram fans in an emotional post.

Part of the moving message read: “As we all find the part we are to play in this global shift and changing of habits, we are focusing this new chapter to understand how we can best contribute.

“While you may not see us here, the work continues.

“Thank you to this community – for the support, the inspiration and the shared commitment to the good in the world.

“We look forward to reconnecting with you soon. You’ve been great!”

While Meghan and Harry will no longer use their Sussex Royal account there is a chance they will establish a new one to promote their next venture Archewell.

The couple are expected to hold off launching Archewell until the worst of the coronavirus pandemic is over.

However, reports they may share a new photo of Archie on his first birthday have led fans to speculate on where they might share the snap.

In reference to whether fans will get a glimpse of Archie on his birthday a spokesman for the couple told the Sunday Times: “You can expect to see him.”

However, they did not specify the details about how and on what platform this might happen.

Last month the subject of baby Archie’s birthday was discussed on ABC royal podcast the HeirPod.

While host Omid Scobie seemed to suggest the couple would let Archie’s big day go by quietly, another royal expert was hopeful fans might get an update.

Speaking to Omid CTV’s Laney Lui said: “Well Omid I definitely want to touch base again soon in fact maybe just about a month from now because we now know that Sussex Royal the Instagram account will be inactive, meaning that there will be no further updates from Harry and Meghan on that account.”

“But in a month’s time is baby Archie’s first birthday and I think a lot of us were expecting that because they’ve given us Archie GIFs and little Archie drops in the past that that would be the account where we’d see some sort of Archie birthday wish for his big milestone.

“So now, like is Archie’s birthday just going to pass quietly? And no one is going to see any photo of him?”

She added: “Or will some kind of new Sussex social media account be set up by then so that we can be like ‘oh hey Archie’s one’?

“I’m really really really curious about what is going to happen like by that date.”

She added: “And what may or may not be in place and if not whether or not that will be a bummer for people right?”

Omid replied: “Hearing you say ‘Archie’s birthday going by quietly’ I think is exactly what the couple have craved for some time and something tells me that that’s exactly what will happen.”

While there is no confirmation as to how a new picture of Archie might be shared on his big day, it seems possible Meghan and Harry might use the milestone to launch a new Archewell Instagram account.

The couple are believed to have settled on Los Angeles to be closer to Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland, 63.
