Bordesley Green Road, in Small Heath, is closed between Cattell Road and Prince Albert Street.

A police cordon is in place, with drivers currently being diverted away from the street, following the incident at around 8pm on today.

It is not known what the incident is, but West Midlands Police has been contacted for information.

The owner of a nearby shop, who wanted to remain anonymous, said they believed no one has been injured.

They said: “I was out the back stocking our shelves so I didn’t see much.

“All I saw was a load of blue nights through our shop window.

“I heard from someone who came in here that police said no one is hurt, but that’s just what I heard, I’m not sure.”

A vehicle behind the police cordon is being inspected by officers.

It appears to have its hazard lights on as police conduct their enquiries.
