A knife-wielding masked gang stormed a home and stabbed a mum, dad and son – prompting a huge scale emergency response.
Neighbours claimed they heard blood-curdling screams for help after the three family members were stabbed at home in Salford, Greater Manchester.
Police and emergency services rushed to the scene with the trio suffering stab wounds and requiring hospital treatment.
The father has since had surgery on a life-changing injury, police say, with the mother and son later discharged.
Neighbours claimed that they “knew something was seriously wrong” when they heard “screams” coming from the flat.
One resident told Manchester Evening News: “It was so loud I thought it was outside. They were screaming and shouting and a woman was screaming for help from the window.
