Body found in river behind Cardiff Castle a day after Wales-England rugby match

A body has been found in a river behind Cardiff Castle , say South Wales Police.

The discovery was made a day after 100,000 rugby fans descended on the Welsh capital to watch Wales beat England 21-13 in the Six Nations.

The match took place at The Principality Stadium, less than half a mile from the castle.

Police were called at 1.15pm on Sunday following reports of a body being found.

The body has yet to be formally identified.

Detectives are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.
