A woman in her 30s has been charged with murder after a boy, four, was killed in south-east London, police have said.
The boy, who has not been named by police, was found lifeless inside a flat on Invermore Place, in Plumstead, at 7.49am on December 27. He was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
The woman, who is related to the child, was arrested and taken into police custody.
She was charged with murder on December 27 and will appear at the Old Bailey on Wednesday.
The boy’s next of kin have been informed, and enquiries into the full circumstances of his death are continuing, the Met Police said.
A post-mortem examination will be held December 31.
