Before the Duke of Sussex met his future wife Meghan, he dated several women, but his longest relationship was with Zimbabwean-born Chelsy. The pair met while Chelsy was a boarder at Stowe School and they had a “turbulent” on-again, off-again relationship for seven years. They eventually split for good in 2011, with Chelsy citing the incompatibility of their life choices, although they remained good friends.
Chelsy attended Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding that year despite the break-up and Harry and Meghan’s seven years later.
Chelsy, 35, was dating divorced TV producer James Marshall around the time of Harry and Meghan’s wedding.
James was previously married to writer and model Elettra Wiedemann, granddaughter of Hollywood icon Ingrid Bergman.
The bizarre connection between Chelsy and Meghan is that Elettra is actually good friends with the Duchess.
The pair have been photographed at several events together and Elettra also wrote an expert travel guide to Paris for Meghan’s now-defunct lifestyle blog The Tig.
This triggered speculation that Meghan may have introduced Chelsy and James.
At the time, a source said: “It’s not clear if Meghan introduced Chelsy to James, but this keeps everyone happy.”
According to Contact Music, Chelsy is now dating someone new and said to be ”really happy right now”.
The jewellery designer was asked in an interview last year whether she was with anyone and she said: “Yes, there is someone.
“And I am quite taken by this one, but it’s very new and I don’t want to say too much.”
Chelsy was known to struggle with dating someone in the Royal Family, which she called “scary and uncomfortable”.
She is now a confident career woman, spending her time between London and Cape Town, South Africa, building up her jewellery business, AYA, and luxury travel business, Aya Africa Travel.

Chelsy opened up about her life and businesses in an interview with Tatler.
She said: “It’s an organic progression from the jewellery.
“Africa is where I’m from, where my family is from; it’s my heritage and I’ve always been interested in tourism and conservation.”
She added: “I’m very happy with where I am right now. I’m happy with everything.
“I’m doing something in Africa that I’m passionate about and I’m excited for what my vision is and what that will create.
“Everything is falling into place.”
Chelsy was sure that royal life was not for her after attending William and Kate’s stunning ceremony in 2011.
While the pair had already split by the day of the nuptials, it confirmed for Chelsy that she had made the right decision.
Angela Levin wrote in her biography ‘Harry: Conversations with the Prince’: “A friend revealed that seeing the enormity and pomp of the day convinced Chelsy that she and Harry had been right to separate.
“Although they had a lot in common, she saw clearly that because they came from such different worlds it could never have worked, especially as she valued her privacy and guarded it so carefully.”
That said, Harry reportedly read her his best man speech over the phone to see what she thought of it.
She was spotted looking somewhat glum at Harry and Meghan’s wedding, although she was apparently much happier at the private evening celebrations.
She reportedly went up to Meghan and gave her a big hug at the reception.
Oprah With Meghan and Harry is on ITV at 9pm on Monday March 8. You can watch the full interview afterwards on the ITV hub.
