Chester named Britain’s most chilled city

A “study” found that its residents were most at ease, based on the lowest number of Google searches for “spas near me”.

Those in Cambridgeshire city Ely came out as the most stressed – and in need of a hot tub.

Researchers found just 0.04 per cent of Chester people searched for a spa last year, top of 62 cities.

But the study by, wait for it, Aqua Spa and Leisure found those in Ely, made 100 times more searches for relaxing treatments.

People in Bath – with its Roman spa – should know where to find a spot of aqua-therapy, but along with Bristol, Chichester and Truro, the city is also in the top five “most stressed” where spa searches are high. Cardiff, Aberdeen, Perth and Canterbury join Chester as most chilled.

But the study by, wait for it, Aqua Spa and Leisure found those in Ely, made 100 times more searches for relaxing treatments.

Laurence Hookway, of Aqua Spa and Leisure, said the fun study shows many “are eager to take a break and spa breaks are the ultimate indulgence”.
