BBC viewers who tuned in to watch the Coronation concert have begged the broadcaster to “just get on with it” as they complained about the show’s slow start. The concert went live at 8.00 pm but the coverage of the live performances still hadn’t started by 20.25pm, prompting people to head online to air their frustrations.
One user said on Twitter: “BBC are presenting this Coronation Concert like it’s Match of the Day Just show the concert you melts.”
Another added: “What is this? The #bbc coverage is absolutely shocking.”
A third said: “They don’t half talk a load of b******s on here, less of the BBC propaganda, and start the damn concert.”
While a crowd roared with excitement in the background, BBC presenter Kirsty Young was shown in a studio discussing the history of Shakespeare, who performed shows in front of royalty during the 1500s.
She was joined by actress Mei Mac and actor Ncuti Gatwa.
