Coronavirus news live: GPs put on standby to roll out vaccine

GPs will be put on standby amid growing hopes that an ‘imminent’ coronavirus vaccine could be ready by next month, reports say.

Doctors will be told to prepare to start vaccinating people over 80 and frontline workers from early December. Work is said to have been going on behind the scenes to prepare for a potential vaccine and how it would be rolled out.

Meanwhile, small weddings may be able to go ahead during England’s second lockdown, according to a legal expert.

Up to six people can gather together for a ceremony under regulations published on Tuesday, potentially paving the way for people to continue getting married throughout November.
