Prince William appeared to ignore a question about Prince Andrew that was asked him while the Duke of Cambridge was leaving his first joint engagement of the year with Kate. On his way out of the Foundling Museum in London, the Duke was approached by a Sky News reporter.

Prince William remained tight-lipped as he was asked: “Do you support Andrew?”

The Duke is the second member of the Royal Family to be publicly asked about the Duke of York.

On January 14, Prince Charles also ignored a question about his younger brother asked while the future King was carrying out his first public engagement of the year.

During a visit to Haddo Country Park, in Ellon, Aberdeenshire, a Sky News reporter asked the Prince of Wales: “Can I ask your view on your brother’s position?”

Charles, who was visiting the area to meet people affected by Storm Arwen in November, brushed off the question and kept on speaking to locals.

Both Prince William and Prince Charles have been reported to have played a part in the decision to strip Prince Andrew of his military and honorary patronages.

Buckingham Palace announced in a brief statement shared on Thursday afternoon the Duke of York had returned to Her Majesty some of his honours and affiliations.

The statement read: “With the Queen’s approval and agreement, the Duke of York’s military affiliations and royal patronages have been returned to the Queen.

“The Duke of York will continue not to undertake any public duties and is defending this case as a private citizen.”

Royal sources also said the Duke is retaining his HRH style, but won’t use it in any official capacity anymore.
