Drivers were left at a standstill this morning after a dog was reportedly running between cars on the A14 in Cambridgeshire.

Traffic was completely stopped after the pet was seen in the road at around 10am this morning.

Motorists on the A14 Westbound were left gridlocked with vehicles completely stationary across the stretch of carriageway.

According to highway patrols it is affecting roads from J37 A142 Fordham Road in Newmarket/Exning) to J36 A11 (Nine Mile Hill).

National Highways said it is currently unknown how long the road will be blocked for.
