Donald Trump says he's a target of Capitol riot probe and expects to be arrested

Former President Donald Trump has announced he is a target in the January 6 Capitol riot investigation and expects to be arrested and indicted again.

Trump revealed on his Truth Social platform that he received a letter from special counsel Jack Smith, who has already criminally charged him in the classified documents investigation.

The ex-president said that ‘HORRIFYING NEWS for our Country was given to me by my attorneys’ on Sunday night while he was with his family.

‘Deranged Jack Smith, the prosecutor with Joe Biden’s DOJ, sent a letter (again, it was Sunday night!) stating that I am a TARGET of the January 6th Grand Jury investigation, and giving me a very short 4 days to report to the Grand Jury, which almost always means an Arrest and Indictment,’ wrote Trump on Tuesday morning.

Trump said that the ‘Department of Injustice’ had ‘effectively issued a third Indictment and Arrest of Joe Biden’s NUMBNER ONE POLITICAL OPPONENT’, referring to himself.

In another post, Trump wrote: ‘Under the United States Constitution, I have the right to protest an Election that I am fully convinced was Rigged and Stolen, just as Democrats have done against me in 2016, and many others have done over the ages.’

Two sources confirmed to CNN that Trump received the letter from Smith.
