Ellie Gould murder: Teenager admits killing schoolgirl

A 17-year-old boy has pleaded guilty to murdering schoolgirl Ellie Gould.

The youth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, admitted killing the A-level student when he appeared at Bristol Crown Court on Thursday morning.

Judge Peter Blair said sentencing would take place at a later date to allow for reports on the defendant to be prepared.

Year 12 pupil Ellie died from stab wounds at an address in Calne, Wiltshire, on 3 May.

Her family previously described the keen horse rider and animal-lover as “fun-loving and a joy to be around”.

They added: “We would like Ellie to be remembered as a kind, caring young lady with a wonderful, fun personality.”

Hardenhuish School in Chippenham, where Ellie attended, said at the time of her death, that it was “shocked and saddened”, adding: “Ellie was a talented, popular and much-loved member of our school community who will be dearly missed.”
