Family Guy writer set to continue savaging Royal Family in hilarious parodies

Gary Janetti used clips of London and the royals to create an alternative to the opening credits of HBO series Succession. Succession tells the story of the Roy family, the dysfunctional owners of a global media empire who fight to succeed the family’s leader Logan Roy. Mr Janetti told the Hollywood Reporter: “I’m treating the Instagram account as if it’s a TV series.

“It has an arc, there are little storylines that play out independently, and there are stand-alones. But I think of each post as an episode. I’m trying to play with the form.”

The trailer features clips of the several royals and even Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, during her appearance as a model on the US version of Deal or No Deal.

Mr Janetti last year created a viral meme of Prince George.

The parody depicted George having a particular disdain for aunt Meghan.

One post read: “There’s ONE star in this family, b**ch.”

Another wrote: “Cute photo shoot, dear. Oh, did I mention I’m going to be the f**king King?”

Explaining the reason behind this parody, Mr Janetti said: “The spotlight had been on George since he was born. Everybody was so consumed with George as the star of the show. Then, here comes this beautiful American woman, and he’s relegated to the sideline in his mind. He’s eaten alive by jealousy, that’s how I see it. The closer we get to the wedding, the bigger she becomes, and the more intense this gets. The fact that she is so appealing and winning is what’s so galling to George.”

He admitted he had received negative feedback for his portrayal of young George who was just four when the posts started: “Sure, but it’s all meant with affection. It’s fun. Even though he says horrible things, it’s done in a way that’s meant to be so ridiculous that you couldn’t possibly take it seriously. I’ve given him these Shakespearean ambitions and thoughts to use this forum to tell that story. I think of him as a character in any series.”

Mr Janetti has also written for Will & Grace and Vicious.

Prince George is third in line to the throne behind grandfather Charles, Prince of Wales and father Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge.

George may be crowned King George VII.

The two previous King Georges lead Britain through both World Wars.

The four previous King Georges were the first four British monarchs of the House of Hannover.
