Virginia Giuffre, who has alleged that Prince Andrew sexually abused her when she was a junior, has decided to file a civil lawsuit against the royal. Now, an interview in The Sun has suggested that the father of Prince Andrew’s accuser has said he is supporting his daughter in her lawsuit decision. Sky Roberts, the 65-year-old father of Mrs Giuffre, said he supports his daughter “100 per cent” in her decision to file a civil lawsuit.
Mrs Giuffre’s claim is that she was abused by the Duke of York on three occasions when she was 17.
She has claimed that she was one of Jeffrey Epstein’s sexual abuse victims.
Her claim of abuse states that Prince Andrew abused her at Ghislaine Maxwell’s London home.
She also claims that the abuse also occurred at Epstein’s Manhattan home and at the financier’s private Caribbean retreat in the US Virgin Islands.
The Duke of York has denied all the allegations and has previously claimed he couldn’t remember ever meeting Mrs Giuffre.
However, a photograph reported to have been taken in March 2001 shows Prince Andrew with his arm around the 17-year-old Ms Virginia Roberts.
Mrs Guthrie is now married but was formerly known as Virginia Roberts.
On Monday Ms Giuffre brought proceedings under America’s “Child Victims Act”.
In relation to the alleged incidents with Prince Andrew, she claimed that she was “trafficked to him and sexually abused by him” when she was 17.
Speaking to The Sun from Florida Mr Roberts said: “I support my daughter 100 per cent.
“The royals are not above the law. That’s not the way it works.
“They can’t just do what they want. People fight back.

“That’s what Virginia is doing, she is fighting back.
“If Prince Andrew puts himself in my position if this was happening to his daughter, how would he feel?
“He should be ashamed.”
Mr Roberts added that he is now infuriated by how Prince Andrew “pretended like he never met” his daughter, despite a photograph showing them both together.
He has now praised his “brave” daughter saying that he is “proud of her”.
Speaking as she launched the civil lawsuit in New York, Ms Giuffre said in a statement: “I am holding Prince Andrew accountable for what he did to me.
“The powerful and rich are not exempt from being held responsible for their actions.
“I hope that other victims will see that it is possible not to live in silence and fear, but to reclaim one’s life by speaking out and demanding justice.”
