Footage of man released after 'random' Birmingham stabbings left one dead

Footage of a man police wish to speak to in relation to the Birmingham stabbings has been released.

The CCTV images show a man wearing a baseball cap, and a dark hoodie with distinctive white drawstrings.

Anyone who recognises him is being urged to get in touch with the force.

No one has yet been arrested as part of the murder investigation. One person died and seven others were injured during the stabbing spree in the centre of the city in the early hours of the morning.

Police said a 23-year-old man suffered fatal injuries in Irving Street. A man and a woman, aged 19 and 32, suffered critical injuries, and five other people, aged between 23 and 33, were also injured. They were treated in hospital and so far two have been discharged.
