Tourists have called for a popular seaside town to ban dogs after they claimed they ruined the local beach.
Angry tourists have claimed that dogs had ruined Fistral Beach in Newquay Cornwall.
Some said the high number of dogs on the beach was scary for toddlers and ruined an area they said was great for surfing.
Fistral Beach is known as the home of British surfing and plays host to a series of events throughout the year, including Europe’s largest surf and skate festival.

Writing online, one person said: “Dogs in charge. Great beach, great for surfing. Avoid if you don’t like dogs, lots off the lead which is scary for toddlers.”
Another person said the beach was “brilliant apart from way too many dog owners”.
They added: “Amazing beach, great scenery, big let down. The letdown is the typical dog owners who think their dogs run the entire place.”
The tourist also commented: “Fouling and urinating everywhere. No one picking it up.
“It’s absolutely disgusting and these people should have their own area where they can all meet up and walk about in crap if that’s what makes them happy.
“Dogs running and jumping up at little kids, it’s just totally out of control and the council needs to do something about it.”
The tension between dog owners and tourists has been bubbling up in recent weeks with people uncertain over how they feel about a dog approaching them on the beach.

The issue has been propelled into the spotlight following a series of dog attacks involving the XL Bully which has led to the Government taking steps to ban the breed.
Tens of beaches around the UK have annual dog bans which prevent people from taking their hounds onto some beaches at peak times between May 1 and September.
While many places implement the five-month ban, not all beaches do.
Although some tourists were highly critical of the number of dogs on Fistral Beach, not everyone had their experience ruined.
One person said: “Love this beach. Great facilities and superb eateries. The beach is huge and beautiful with natural pools.
“I felt as though I was abroad. Dogs allowed too so everyone happy.”
Another wrote: “Great beach, massive waves, the sea did go deep suddenly quite close to shore.
“Lifeguards on the ball and keeping everyone in the right places. My husband and kids hired wetsuits and body boards and loved it.”
