A 14-year-old girl has died after being hit by a car.
Two men, aged 18 and 19, were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after the crash in St Helens on Saturday night.
Officers were called to a report of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian on Blackbrook Road at about 9.50pm.
A force spokesman said: ‘Emergency services attended and the pedestrian, a 14-year-old girl, was taken to hospital where she sadly died.
‘Her family have been informed and are being supported at this time.’
Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information, CCTV or dashcam footage is urged to contact police on 101.
