Greta Thunberg says Andrew Tate felt 'threatened' by her

Greta Thunberg has claimed those like Andrew Tate are ‘threatened by people like me’.

In her first comments since the misogynist influencer was arrested, the climate activist said she views the trolling she faces ‘as a positive sign because that means that we are actually having an impact’.

It comes after the pair sparred online, with Greta quipping that Tate had ‘small d**k energy’ when he said he’d send her a full list of his ’33 cars’ and ‘their respective enormous emissions’.

Speaking to ABC News’ The View, the 20-year-old addressed their feud, saying: ‘There are many, many problems in the world that we need people dealing with.

‘But it seems like they feel so threatened or they feel like their worldview is so threatened by people like me – climate activists and environmental activists – speaking up that they feel like they need to silence us and mock us.

‘That should be seen as a positive sign because that means that we are actually having an impact.

‘Otherwise, they wouldn’t be spending their time trolling us online.’

Former kickboxer Tate was arrested in December with his brother on suspicion of human trafficking, rape and forming an organised crime group to exploit women.

The reality TV star remains in custody until February 27 after his second appeal for freedom was rejected.

The brothers’ lawyer, Eugen Vidineac, says his clients reject all the allegations.

Tate was arrested in Romania as part of a long-running investigation 24 hours after posting a video of himself ranting about Greta – prompting speculation that police may have used the post to confirm his location.

‘Please bring me pizza and make sure that these boxes are not recycled’, he said in a jibe at Greta.

The footage showed two boxes from the chain restaurant Jerry’s Pizza with clearly identifiable Romanian language writing on them.

After police detained him, Greta took to Twitter to write: ‘This is what happens when you don’t recycle your pizza boxes’.
