Megyn Kelly has ripped into Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, suggesting they need their royal titles to “pay the bills”. The US TV host, a vocal critic of the Sussexes, discussed the granting of Prince and Princess titles to their children, Archie and Lilibet.
In an interview with Sky New Australia, Kelly claimed that the Duke and Duchess’s children having titles is only to help keep them relevant in the US, blasting: “That’s all they have to pay the bills and make themselves interesting.”
“Their only currency is those titles,” the commentator told host Paul Murray, while questioning why they chose to accept the honour.
“Their approval ratings are through the floor, they went down even lower in America and in the UK, over the past couple of months.
“Calling your kid prince and princess ain’t gonna help.”
Kelly noted how Harry had dropped 37 points in popularity in the UK, and Meghan had fallen 31 points, with approval ratings also significantly lower in the US.
According to a Redfield & Wilton poll, Harry was liked by 32 percent and disliked by 42 percent in America in February.
Meghan was liked by 27 percent of Americans and disliked by 44 percent, giving her a net rating of -17 points.
Kelly also lashed out at Meghan and claimed the Duchess will “take the tiara”, but then “bash” the Royal Family.
Meghan and Harry first used the Princess title for Lilibet when they christened their daughter this month.
The Sussexes’ children had the right to the new titles since Queen Elizabeth II’s death in September, according to a Letters Patent issued by King George V in 1917.
It comes after Oprah Winfrey said Meghan and Harry should only go to King Charles III’s coronation if it is “what they feel is best”.
Speaking to her friend Gayle King on Tuesday’s CBS Mornings, the TV icon was asked whether she feels the Sussex royals should attend.

“I think they should do what they feel is best for them and their family.
“That’s what I think.
“That’s what the bottom line comes down to: ‘What do you feel like is the right thing for you?’”
