It was not hard to notice that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had gone radio silence on Saturday, amid celebrations for Prince George’s birthday.
To celebrate the young royal’s birthday on July 22, various members of the Royal Family wished him a happy birthday via their social media platforms.
Despite this, Harry and Meghan opted to remain silent – choosing to not publicly address their nephew’s big day.
It has to be noted that for a number of years, the Royal Family have remained silent for Harry and Meghan, as well as their two children, Archie and Lilibet’s birthdays.
There is a valid reason for this, due to a rule put in place for the royal social media platforms – particularly since the King ascended the throne last September.

Speaking on this, HELLO!’s Online Royal Correspondent Danielle Stacey explains: “In recent years and certainly since King Charles III’s reign began in September 2022, we have only seen public messages from the Royal Family’s social media accounts for working members of the Royal Family, such as the Prince and Princess of Wales and their children, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and the Princess Royal.”
The royal expert added: “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped back as senior royals in 2020, and no longer carry out royal duties.
“Similarly, the palace doesn’t typically share messages on the likes of Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie and Zara Tindall’s birthdays nor their children’s special days.”
