The Late Late Show host’s relationship with the Duke and Duchess is well-known. Corden appeared on the opening episode of Harry and Meghan’s podcast series Archewell Audio, while Harry opened up to him in an open-top bus interview. Harry revealed his struggles with his mental health, details about the Royal Family, and the moment he knew Meghan was “the one”.

Meghan and Harry invited Corden to their spectacular wedding in 2018.

While the wedding was televised and watched by tens of millions of people, the wedding reception was a very private affair.

Yet reports from insiders at the event revealed some of what went on behind the scenes.

Held at Frogmore House in Windsor, 200 guests let their hair down at a “raucous” bash, according to The Mirror.

Corden had reportedly been personally asked to provide the entertainment for the dinner, before guests partied into the early hours.

In Channel 5’s 2020 documentary “Meghan: Where Did It All Go Wrong?”, royal author Katie Nicholl recalled the glitzy occasion.

She said: “George Clooney was serving up cocktails and whisking Meghan and Kate around the dance floor.

“There was a dance-off, instigated by James Corden, between William, Charles and Harry.

“I think it was really just a fantastic night where the couple were able to do things their way, from serving dirty burgers at midnight out of posh burger stalls in the grounds of Frogmores, to handing out monogrammed slippers so that their guests, in those six-inch Louboutins or whatever they were wearing, could rest their weary feet come the end of the night.”

Clooney has always denied the claims, insisting “I didn’t dance”.

An insider told The Sun of the dance-off: “Everyone was laughing because it’s something no one expected.

“Meghan and her mum also joined in.

“Then everyone danced, which really kicked off the party.”

Meghan and Harry reportedly chose Whitney Houston’s I Wanna Dance With Somebody as their first dance, a song Meghan had called her “happy song” in a 2016 interview with Lifestyle Magazine.

The insider also claimed Serena Williams played beer pong “like it was tennis”, something the tennis legend later denied.

Meghan and Harry both gave speeches, but it was Prince William who reportedly “brought the house down” in a joint speech with Harry’s friend Charlie van Straubenzee.

The source said: “William managed to strike just the right balance between hilarious and solemn.

“He did mention their late mother, Princess Diana, and said how proud she would have been of her younger son.”

William spoke of how proud he was of his brother, and said Meghan was “the best thing that had ever happened to Haz”.

The source continued: “But when he and Charlie got going, it was hilarious.

“They teased Harry about his growing bald patch and Wills said it would become as bad as his. It was some bash.”

Harry and William’s relationship has become more strained since the Sussexes quit senior royal duties and moved to California.

Relationship expert Neil Wilkie told Express.co.uk their “positions are getting hardened as time goes on, it’s harder for them to achieve reconciliation”.

The brothers reunited for the unveiling of their mother’s statue last month, but it is not known when they will next see each other.
