Video footage shared on social media shows the moment one side of the ride at Hyde Park snapped and crash into the support beam. Usually, the ride should launch passengers straight up into the air, creating a slingshot, but two people were left trapped inside after the incident.

The passengers were left suspended in the air as horrified visitors looked on.

Footage posted on social media left people shocked with one person saying: “You will NEVER catch me on one of these”.

Another user said: “I went the other day and this is all I could imagine”.

But this isn’t the first incident that has steered people away from Winter Wonderland which runs until January 2.

A man was stabbed in the neck just outside the theme park last weekend, Metropolitan Police confirmed.

A spokesperson said: “The victim is in hospital with a slash wound, it is not life-threatening or life-changing.

“No arrests have been made.”
