Three people managed to escape the mangled wreckage of a car after it smashed into a tree and overturned.
The car had been stolen during a burglary and was so badly damaged in the crash in Stockport, Greater Manchester, that the boot was completely folded in half, the suspension arm was ripped off and the roof came apart.
Police released horrifying pictures of the wrecked blue Volkswagen T-Roc on Sunday after officers were called to Bramhall Park Road, a quiet residential street in the leafy suburb of Bramhall, at around 1.50am.
Officers said they are keen to find the three people who were in the car when it crashed as they are likely to be badly injured.
Eyewitnesses had seen the driver speeding along the road before the crash, police said.
They then saw three people leaving the car.
An investigation was launched and police discovered the car had been stolen.
