Javell Morgan, from Leeds, died after being stabbed in Moss Side on Monday. Greater Manchester Police have launched an investigation into the stabbing of the 20-year-old, which is understood to have happened in a brawl during the early hours of the morning.

Tributes have been pouring in since the tragedy with many people taking to social media to pay their respects, Yorkshire Live reports.

Javell’s girlfriend, Thaira Cole, 18, has now paid her own heartbreaking tribute.

Thaira, from Leeds, said the couple last saw each other just a few days before Javell’s tragic death. She added she has spent the past days watching the couple’s favourite show and buying his favourite things.

Thaira paid tribute to Javell in a heartfelt message sent to Leeds Live. She said: “I can’t begin to explain what I’m feeling right now. It’s so unbearable. I see you every time I close my eyes. I dream about you. I was just with my boy a couple of days ago. We were talking, joking and planning our future.

“My room is how you left it. My bedding, everything smells of you and I’ve not slept in it since. I can’t stop watching our favourite show, Law & Order, you absolutely loved it. I am laid in your tracksuit and top – I can’t get out of it.

“Last night I ate our favourite meal: peri burger, chips and a Fanta. I even left a few chips like you do. I can’t stop buying your favourite things. I keep playing your voice, I’ve got it on replay. I miss hearing you joking around and calling me ‘Tyrizzy my rizzy’. I really will always be your Tie – your rizzy.

“Everyone knows how much you love me and how much I love you. I idolise you, my boy. We made a ‘pinkie promise’ to always have each other forever. I have even got your name there. I have got you across my heart forever too – I’ll never get rid of them. We have the best memories. Thank you for the best year. I am forever your girlfriend, I am forever yours. Sleep tight my boy. I love you my Javell.”

Greater Manchester Police’s Senior Investigating Officer, DCI Neil Higginson, said: “Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of Javell Morgan, as they try to process the devastating death of their loved one. They have requested privacy at this time. Now a Home Office post-mortem has been performed, we can confirm that Javell sadly died as a result of stab injuries, not by a shooting, as was originally thought.

“As the investigation progresses and all lines of enquiry explored, we are still keen to hear from anyone who may have any information to assist our ongoing investigation.”

A Go Fund Me page has also been launched by Javell’s auntie to help pay for his funeral costs. In a message on the page, Harris Slater said she and her family would “love to give Javell the send-off he deserves” during a “devastating time for all family and friends of Javell Morgan”.
