Prince Harry received a visit from a member of the Royal Family over the weekend, when he was joined by his cousin Princess Eugenie at the Los Angeles SoFi Stadium for the Super Bowl. Harry and Eugenie are known to have been close since childhood, with the royals’ respective mothers, the late Princess Diana and Sarah Ferguson, known to be good friends too. But Eugenie and Harry’s childhood friendship has lasted into adulthood, with the pair obviously still close despite Harry’s move to the US almost two years ago.
Growing up in the royal spotlight, it appears Prince Harry and Princess Eugenie bonded over their shared experiences.
At royal events like Trooping the Colour, Prince Harry and Princess Eugenie were frequently pictured chatting and playing together as children.
As younger adults, Eugenie and Harry were known to socialise together, with Eugenie thought to have introduced Harry to his ex-girlfriend Cressida Bonas.
And in recent years, Eugenie has also formed a close friendship with Harry’s wife Meghan Markle.
In an interview with Ellen DeGeneres last year, Meghan revealed how she, Harry, Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank headed out for a night in Toronto before news broke of Harry and Meghan’s relationship in 2016.
Meghan said: “The four of us snuck out in Halloween costumes to just have one fun night on the town before it was out in the world that we were a couple.
“It was a post-apocalypse theme, so we had all this very bizarre costuming on, and we were able to just have one fun final night out.”
Harry and Meghan married in 2018, and Eugenie and Jack also married a few months later at the same Windsor venue, and it seems the couples have maintained a close friendship since.
Harry and Meghan famously spent a significant sum on renovations for their UK residence, Frogmore Cottage in Windsor, but the couple decided to leave the UK in March 2020 to reside in California.
With their Berkshire residence vacant, Eugenie and Jack are understood to be living in the residence with their baby son August Brooksbank.
A source told PEOPLE in 2020: “Frogmore Cottage continues to be the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s residence in the UK and they are delighted to be able to open up their home to Princess Eugenie and Jack as they start their own family.”
When Prince Harry returned to the UK in April 2021 for Prince Philip’s funeral, it was understood he stayed with Eugenie and Jack at Frogmore during this time.
Eugenie has also publicly shown her love for Meghan and Harry with several touching public gestures in recent years, including a sweet message of congratulations on her Instagram stories when the couple welcomed their daughter Lilibet in June 2021, writing: “Congratulations dear cousins.. we couldn’t be happier for you all.”

She also shared a message of support on her Instagram stories for Meghan’s 40×40 initiative to mark her 40th birthday last August, posting: “To celebrate dear Meghan’s 40th birthday I’m contributing 40 minutes of mentorship to support women reentering the workforce.”
Eugenie and Harry’s latest outing in the US has delighted royal fans, with the low-key royal pair spotted in a private box wearing face coverings in accordance with LA rules.
Eugenie’s husband Jack and Harry’s wife Meghan weren’t present at the sporting event, so it isn’t known whether Jack joined Eugenie for the US visit.
Although the length of Eugenie’s visit to the States isn’t known, she may see Meghan at the Sussexes’ Montecito mansion at some point during her trip – and could also get to meet their son Archie again, and their little daughter Lilibet.
