The Duke of Cambridge flew to Dubai for his first official trip abroad since pandemic travel restrictions hit and he was clearly thrilled to be back in the sky. He posted a picture on the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge official Instagram account of the stunning Dubai skyline taken from his plane window, as he arrived in the United Arab Emirates ahead of the UK National Day at Expo 2020 Dubai.
The caption read: “Excited to be arriving in Dubai to celebrate the UK at @expo2020dubai and discuss the vital issue of working together with the UAE and international partners to achieve a more sustainable world with @earthshotprize and @unitedforwildlife.
He signed off simply with ‘W’.
Taking to Instagram, social media users were quick to gush over how relatable the image was.
One Instagram user, royallifefan, wrote: “Great picture, the Duchess isn’t the only one with photography skills.”

For National Day the UK will take over the Expo site to showcase British talent.
As part of the festivities the Birmingham 2022 Queen’s Baton Relay, launched by Her Majesty last year from Buckingham Palace, will parade through the Expo site to visit Commonwealth National Pavilions.
The Prince will use his time abroad to promote two Royal Foundation Programmes – United for Wildlife and the Earthshot Prize.
He will in turn learn more about initiatives that protect UAE wildlife.
