The Duchess of Cambridge beamed as she prepared to join Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, Sophie, Countess of Wessex and other prominent members of the Firm on the traditional ride. Kate was not in the company of her husband Prince William as he is standing in for the Queen to take the royal salute from the troops.

He will be joined by his father, Prince Charles, and aunt, Princess Anne.

The carriage drive took Kate to Horse Guards Parade, where the Duchess will join Meghan Markle and Prince Harry for the first time since March 2020.

Together, and with other members of the Firm, they will watch the parade from the Major General’s Office.
