Kate makes secret solo trip and has key hack to make sure she’s not recognised

According to author Tina Brown, the Princess of Wales makes secret solo trips to well-known museums and art galleries.

The little trick allows the royal to go unnoticed as the visits fall during the early hours of the morning, usually around 8am, and before members of the public start arriving.

Writing in her book, The Palace Papers, Ms Brown writes that Kate’s solo outings are done to “nourish her inner life”, as well as allowing her to get out-and-about doing some of the things she enjoys.

Although the tricks work in Kate’s favour, she was once spotted out-and-about at a David Hockney exhibition at the Royal Academy by a surprised royal fan.

The royal, who is known for her love of art, reportedly told the fan: “I miss my history of art. It’s what I do to get my fix.”

Kate, 41, studied the subject of art at the University of St Andrew’s, graduating with a 2:1 in 2005.

With Prince William also a student there at the same time, the university was also where Kate’s royal love story began.

To mix in with her passion, Kate is also particularly fond of sketching and is credited as a talented artist.

Kate also put her artistic skills to good use for her sister Pippa’s wedding in May 2017.

The talented royal drew St Mark’s Church, where the ceremony was held, on the front cover of the order of service.

Kate’s brother-in-law James Matthews praised the royal, by making note of her “beautiful” drawing at the ceremony.

In 2018, Kate also used her knowledge to select photos for the National Gallery’s Victorian Giants: The birth of art photography exhibition.

It is also no secret that alongside Kate’s artistic ability, the mother-of-three is also a keen photographer.

Over the years, Kate has combined her passion for capturing snapshots and her desire to ensure her children’s privacy needs are met by taking charge of the photographs of her three children released to the press.

However, this tradition appears to have halted as recent photographs of the children have notably been taken by photographer Millie Pilkington.

It was also revealed last year that Kate had taken the cover image of Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, for her guest-edited edition of Country Life magazine.

Kate has previously credited her grandfather for her love of photography.
