Kate Middleton and Prince William: A look at their 2020 highlights
Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, 39, is celebrating her birthday this Saturday and is expected to spend a quiet day in Norfolk with Prince William, 38, Prince George, seven, Princess Charlotte, five, and Prince Louis, two. The Duchess is a keen amateur photographer and has made it something of a tradition to take official birthday portraits of her children and husband herself.
Over the past year, Kate’s intimate family snaps have delighted royal fans and she has shared new photos to celebrate William, George, Charlotte and Louis’s birthdays.
However, the Duchess is unlikely to have turned the camera on herself this year as England is in the midst of another national lockdown.
Will Kate share new photos on her birthday?
While Kate enjoys taking photos, it seems unlikely that any new portraits of the Duchess will be shared with the public this year.

Royal Family birthday portraits are traditionally shared with the public the evening before the actual birthday.
No new photos were released of the Duchess of Cambridge ahead of Saturday morning.
Instead, the Cambridges Kensington Royal social media accounts have been focusing on the work the couple have been doing to show their support for keyworkers amid the pandemic.
On Friday evening a new clip of Prince William speaking to staff at Homerton University Hospital was shared by Kensington Palace on Twitter.
The tweet read: “We are so thankful for the work of our incredible NHS staff, at such a challenging time.
“Prince William spoke to staff from Homerton University Hospital in London to hear about their experiences in recent weeks, and to offer his thanks for their continued efforts.”
As the family’s honorary photographer, it seems highly unlikely Kate will have taken photos of herself to share on her birthday.
Given the mood of the nation, Kate’s birthday is likely to pass by without formal recognition or fanfare this year.

One way the wider Royal Family could choose to honour the Duchess on Saturday could be to share their birthday wishes for her on social media.
How will Kate spend her birthday?
The Cambridges have been based at their Norfolk home Anmer Hall since before Christmas and it is traditionally where Kate chooses to celebrate her birthday with family and friends every year.
This year Kate is expected to spend her birthday in Norfolk with her immediate family.
As England remains in lockdown, the Duchess will be prevented from marking the milestone with wider family and friends.
Last year guests at Anmer Hall for Kate’s birthday weekend included her parents Carole and Michael Middleton.
While Kate does most of the cooking at home, Prince William could treat her to a special meal this evening.
The dedicated parents are tasked with teaching George and Charlotte at home until schools reopen.
