Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, has excited royal fans as the debut of her latest project draws nearer and nearer. The Duchess launched a photography submission back in May to capture a snapshot of the nation in COVID-19 lockdown. ITV Royal Rota podcast host Chris Ship discussed what could be expected from the publication of the pictures.

He told listeners: “It will launch digitally on September 14, which is quickly approaching.

“So we’ll get some more pictures from the UK lockdown that Kate and others from the National Portrait Gallery have chosen as the finalists.

“I think we’ll definitely get a few shots from Kate herself.

“She’s widely known as a keen photographer so I’d be surprised if she didn’t join in.”

31,598 portraits were reportedly submitted to Hold Still.

A final 100 images have been selected for a digital exhibition by the National Portrait Gallery and the Duchess, who is their patron.

The photography project was focused on three core themes – Helpers and Heroes, Your New Normal, and Acts of Kindness.

A selection of the final 100 images will be shown in towns and cities across the UK later in the year.

After teasing the launch with a few sneak peaks on the Kensington Royal Instagram, fans expressed their excitement.

One commented: “Can’t wait to see all the final images. Fabulous initiative.”

Leigh agreed: “Love how Catherine has shared this picture, I now feel like we’ve all shared the same lockdown problems.”
