King Charles held an audience with Prime Minister Liz Truss in London on Wednesday – but eagle-eyed fans couldn’t help but notice the choice of photos on display in the Palace. The monarch was seen welcoming the British PM into one of the rooms at Buckingham Palace. A video shared of the meeting gave insight into some of the photographs chosen to be displayed by the King.

One of the photos on display in the room showed his son Prince Harry and Meghan Markle at their wedding in 2018.

The image was taken at St George’s Chapel and features other members of the family – including the King, Queen Consort Camilla, the Prince and Princess of Wales and Doria Ragland – Meghan’s mother.

Their bridesmaids and paige boys were also featured in the snap – including Princess Charlotte and Prince George.

Another photo shows Charles standing alongside his late mother the Queen, his son Prince William, and his grandson Prince George.

The photo was taken back in 2020 by British photographer Ranald Mackechnie “to mark the start of a new decade”.

The image documentered the Queen alongside her three heirs and was taken the same day the four made traditional puddings in the Palace before Christmas in 2019.

Charles also has a third photo alongside these two, which appears to show the King and his wife Camilla with their dogs.

The couple own two Jack Russell terriers, named Beth and Bluebell, who were adopted by Camilla from the Battersea Dogs and Cats Home back in February 2017.

In a past interview, Camilla told BBC Radio 5 Live that “The nice thing about dogs is you can sit them down, you could have a nice long conversation, you could be cross, you could be sad and they just sit looking at you wagging their tail.”

It appears the King is making an effort to reconcile with his son following his departure from the Firm.

Charles mentioned Harry and Meghan in his first speech as Monarch as he said he wished to “express his love for Harry and Meghan as they continue to build their lives overseas”.

A source told the Telegraph in September that there is a glimmer of hope for unity in the future. They said: “It remains the case that the King loves both of his children. Over the last 16 days or so, there were tremendous flickers of hope. In terms of the future, there is hope of a cause for unity.”

Since Meghan and Harry announced they were stepping back from their roles as senior royals more than two years ago, relations between the Duke and Duchess and the rest of the Royal Family have been strained.

A number of allegations have been made by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex since their move to the US in March 2020.

The Queen’s death last month saw the pair reuniting with members of the Royal Family – including Prince William and Kate Middleton.
