Police were called to a stabbing on Lodge Lane on Friday. They confirmed a man had been stabbed in the back and was taken to hospital. However, it is unclear whether the stabbing took place on the street or inside a William Hill bookies.
The cordon remains on the corner of Lodge Lane and Wordsworth Street.
Emergency services were called to the scene at 2.20pm on Friday with officers still n the area this evening.
The victim’s injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
A Merseyside Police spokesman told Express.co.uk that no arrests had been resolved.
The spokesman also confirmed it was not terror-related and that no arrests have been made at this time.
Following the attempted attack on Liverpool Women’s Hospital last week, Merseyside Police will continue patrols in the area.
A statement read: “Officers are continuing patrols and reassurance in our communities.
“We want you to feel safe.
“If you don’t, please tell us and we’ll take action.”
This is a breaking story, more to follow…
