Since it started in 1994, Lotto has gone on to become the “nation’s favourite game”, according to the National Lottery. Millions of people have played the game in the hope of winning a life-changing amount of money.

How do you play Lotto?

Playing Lotto is simple, simply pick six numbers from 1-59 to play.

Players can also get some random numbers by opting for a Lucky Dip.

Lotto players can play up to seven lines of numbers on each play slip and 10 slips can be bought at a time.

Lotto draws take place every Wednesday and Saturday, so players have the option of playing one or two Lotto games every week.

It costs £2 to play Lotto and tickets can be purchased online or in some shops.

Purchasing Lotto tickets online is possible from 6am until 11pm every day.

However, anyone who wishes to purchase a Lotto ticket on a draw day must buy it before 7.30pm.

The Lotto can only rollover five times before it will be a Must Be Won draw.

The cycle is as follows: Starting Jackpot, Rollover, Double Rollover, Triple Rollover, Quadruple Rollover, Must Be Won.

In a Must Be Won draw, if no one wins the jackpot with six main numbers, there will be a Rolldown.

This means the jackpot is shared by players matching two or main numbers.
