Major incident at busy UK airport as security closed with police search underway

Emergency services have rushed to a major UK airport with a national incident causing major queues.

Travellers at Glasgow Airport are facing major disruption with officers at the scene ‘looking for someone’, according to Police Scotland.

A number of passengers told the Daily Record that police are checking everyone’s ID after they’ve already gone through the security hall on Wednesday afternoon.

Huge queues have built up throughout the airport with reports some members of the public are no longer being allowed into the building due to it being ‘at capacity’.

A tannoy announcement has told frustrated passengers the delays are being caused by a ‘national incident’.

Glasgow Airport, Police Scotland and the Home Office have been contacted for comment.
