Police officers have arrested a 25-year-old man in Islington following a stabbing, which resulted in three smartly dressed “have-a-go-heroes” being injured in a central London street. A video appeared to show the trying trying to stop two men on electric bikes.
City of London Polices said a man was arrested in the north London borough on Monday morning.
The man was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery, grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon.
The incident happened outside the 22 Bishopgate skyscraper on October 6.
The perpetrators are believed to have struck at around 9:45am on the day.
Officers arrived at the scene just five minutes after the incident.
Police confirmed three people were stabbed in the horror incident while a fourth person was pushed to the ground.
Temporary Detective Chief Inspector Colin Bishop, of the City of London Police major crime team, said a man was arrested by detectives investigating “a number of serious offences connected with the attempted robbery and knife attack”.
He said: “‘He was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery, grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon.
“He remains in police custody.”
Detectives are continuing to appeal for witnesses with information to assist with the investigation.
