A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman in her 20s died on a street in north London.
Police were called to Turkey Street in Enfield by the London Ambulance Service at about 5.50pm on Sunday.
Officers found a woman injured in the street who was pronounced dead at the scene near the Brookbank building.
Her next of kin have been informed, Metropolitan Police said, adding that a post-mortem and formal identification will be carried out in due course.
A man was arrested nearby on suspicion of murder and taken to a north London police station.
The Met said a police cordon remained in place on Sunday night and that officers will be in the area while initial investigations are carried out.
A spokesman added: “Police were called to Brookbank, Turkey Street, at 5.49pm on Sunday, April 7, by the London Ambulance Service.
“A woman, aged in her 20s, was found injured in the street and was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.
“A man was arrested nearby on suspicion of murder and he has been taken to a north London police station.”
