Man without mask filmed smoking on Tube train during lockdown

A man has been filmed on the tube not wearing a mask – and smoking.

In a video taken by a witness at the scene, he can be seen seated in the carriage casually puffing on a cigarette.

Other passengers, who are wearing face coverings, can be seen sat across from him – disregarding the man as he blows smoke into the air in the enclosed space.

It is believed the incident took place on January 15 travelling on the Picadilly line.

The clip, which has been shared on social media, has gained over 31,140 views so far – leaving users in utter disbelief at the man’s actions.

One person said: ‘If only I was there… I’d give a disapproving sigh before moving to another carriage.’

Another person added: ‘Can’t believe everyone looking and not saying anything.’

Someone else wrote: ‘What a MORON!!! SHAMEFUL!!!!’

Smoking on the London tube has been banned since 1984.

There is a maximum fine of £1,000 for those committing the offence, as stated on TFL’s website.
