Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have often worn items belonging to Princess Diana during their public engagements to honour her with some suggesting their unborn daughter could also be named Diana in homage. Royal protocols also decree that family members often have long names made up of prominent royals meaning it would not be unlikely for the name Diana to be used. However, an insider revealed the couple may not use the name since it may garner unwanted attention on the child’s life should she be named after the Princess of Wales.
Royal commentators have drawn parallels between Prince Harry and Princess Diana’s feud with the Royal Family and suggest naming Harry’s daughter after Diana would be an “ultimate ode” to the princess.
However, an insider told celebrity news website Page Six that the royal couple would not name their daughter after Diana because of the attention it would bring.
Some believe their daughter may have Diana as a middle name like Princess Charlotte.
But bookies have revealed their favourites for the royal name.

While Diana remains high on the list, some say Doria could be a favourite name after Meghan’s mum.
Eleanor has also been touted as a potential name that has both UK and US origins making it a clever choice.
Queen Eleanor was the wife of King Henry II and Eleanor Roosevelt was the wife of US President Franklin Roosevelt.

A source told Vanity Fair that the couple would be “taking time off” for the arrival of their daughter so they can share quality time together.
Another source revealed Meghan will have a home birth for her daughter after being denied one when she was advised to have Archie in hospital for his safety.
The source told Page Six: “Meghan’s plan was to have a home birth with Archie, but you know what they say about the best-laid plans.
“In the end, her doctors advised her to go to hospital and all she was interested in was about delivering Archie safely.”
