The Duchess of Sussex is heavily pregnant with their second child – a baby girl. Philippa is currently the favourite with the bookmakers to be the name chosen by Meghan and Harry. It would be a special nod to the late Prince Philip who died in April at the age of 99.

However, royal expert Brittani Barger believes the couple will adopt for something else as Philippa is the name of Kate’s sister.

Philippa Charlotte Middleton, 37, is more commonly known as Pippa, and is two years younger than Kate.

Ms Barger, Deputy Editor of Royal Central told the Daily Star: “I don’t think that they will name their daughter Philippa because that’s Kate’s sister’s name.

“People may hope they name their daughter that in memory of Philip, but I don’t see that happening.”

The royal expert suggested Meghan and Harry could go with Andrea – the female version of Prince Philip’s middle name Andrew – if they wanted to pay a tribute to the Duke.

However, Ms Barger pointed out that name could be too close to Prince Harry’s uncle, Prince Andrew, in the wake of his relationship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

She added: “If they want to honour Philip, they may go with Andrea – the female form of his middle name Andrew; however, that also comes with complications due to Prince Andrew’s scandal with Jeffrey Epstein.

“I think whatever name they choose is going to be unexpected like Archie was.”

The name Philippa is currently 2/1 with Ladbrokes to be chosen by Meghan and Harry for their second child.

Diana currently second-favourite at odds of 5/1, meanwhile, the name Poppy has been cut from 12/1 to 8/1.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Punters remain convinced Harry and Meghan will name their second child Philippa, although the latest odds suggest the pair might opt for Poppy.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex confirmed they were having a baby girl during their infamous interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Harry described the feeling of becoming a father for a second time as “amazing” and suggested a daughter would complete his family with Meghan.

He said: “Just grateful, like any to have any child, any one or any two would have been amazing.

“But to have a boy and then a girl, you know, what more can you ask for?

“But now, you know, now we — we’ve got our family. We’ve got, you know, the four of us and our two dogs, and it’s great.”

When pressed on whether there would be any more kids in the future, Harry said he was “done”, and Meghan added “two is it”.
