September 2017: First official public appearance

Meghan and Harry made their first public appearance together at the Prince’s Invictus Games in 2017.

The couple were pictured next to each other at the wheelchair tennis games.

They looked so in love and broke royal protocol by kissing and holding hands in public, something which is frowned upon usually.

Shortly before in an interview with Vanity Fair, Meghan said “We’re a couple. We’re in love.

“I’m sure there will be a time when we will have to come forward and present ourselves and have stories to tell, but I hope what people understand is that this is our time.”

This picture marks the beginning of an iconic royal love story.

November 2017: The engagement announcement

After months of rumours and speculation, Harry’s father the Prince of Wales announced his son’s engagement in an official statement, and the couple released this beautiful picture.

The statement read “His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales is delighted to announce the engagement of Prince Harry to Ms Meghan Markle.

“His Royal Highness and Ms Markle became engaged in London earlier this months.

“Prince Harry has informed Her Majesty The Queen and other close members of his family.”

The engagement ring was designed by Harry himself and included two stones which belonged to his mother, Princess Diana.

The palace further announced the wedding would take place in May 2018.

December 2017: Meghan’s first Christmas with the family

Meghan and Harry were pictured with Will and Kate attending the family’s annual Christmas service at Sandringham.

The couple looked besotted with each other as always, and Meghan’s effortless nature makes it clear she fits in with the Royal family.

May 19, 2018: The big day

Meghan and Harry tied the knot in St George’s Chapel, Windsor.

Megan’s wedding dress was designed and made by Givenchy creative director Clare Waight Keller, and 11.5 million people tuned in around the world to watch the nuptials.

The momentous event had a star-studded guest list, including George and Amal Clooney and the Beckhams.

Meghan’s mum Doria Ragland was also in attendance.

October 2018 – May 2019: Royal baby

When Princess Eugenie was married to Jack Brooksbank in 2018, rumours started circulating Meghan was with child due to the loose coat she was pictured wearing.

The rumours were short-lived and the news was soon confirmed by the palace.

The royal baby was officially announced on October 15, 2018, coincidentally also the first day of the couple’s Commonwealth tour of Australia and New Zealand.

The Duchess’s mother Doria said she is “very happy about this lovely news”, adding she “looks forward to welcoming her grandchild.

The official statement read: “Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019.

“Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people all around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public.”.
