Royal family 'need to plug finances to cover deficit' says expert
The Duke and Duchess have taken on ex-palace employees Clara Loughran and Beth Herlihy, according to the Daily Mail. The two will reportedly be responsible for carrying out charity work back in Britain while Harry and Meghan are busy in the US with projects.
The roles may not be far-removed from their former royal responsibilities.
According to reports, Ms Loughran had worked for Prince Harry since 2015, tasked with putting together his charitable programmes.
The Duke is said to have admired her work so much that he recommended Ms Loughran to become a Member of the Royal Victorian Order, which the Queen accepted.
Meanwhile Ms Herlihy has worked alongside Prince Harry for years, co-ordinating events for the Royal Foundation initiative.

The Mail claims the two were among at least 13 employees to have lost their jobs when Harry and Meghan moved to the US.
The two new appointments came as part of a wave as the two royals appear to be building up a team to help them carry out their future projects.
One public relations analyst, Mark Borkowski, said Harry and Meghan were preparing for “a big operation” with global projects.
Other experts to have joined the Duke and Duchess’ team are said to include Christine Weil Schirmer, who used to handle communications for website Pinterest.

The two royals have also appointed people to help run their upcoming non-profit Archewell foundation.
The organisation – reportedly due to focus on mental health – is due to launch next year.
Meanwhile Harry and Meghan also signed a contract with US public speaking agency Harry Walker earlier this year.
It will see them engaging in discussions and keynote speeches for companies or other organisations, with topics expected to include the environment, racial justice, and gender equity.

The high-profile speaking agency also handles other prominent names including former US President Barack Obama and tennis icon Maria Sharapova.
In addition, Harry and Meghan are also due to produce documentaries and other shows for video streaming service Netflix.
The two said in a statement: “Through our work with diverse communities and their environments, to shining a light on people and causes around the world, our focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope.
“As new parents, making inspirational family programming is also important to us, as is powerful storytelling through a truthful and relatable lens.”
Royal expert and Sussexes biographer Omid Scobie has claimed the two will be involved in an “innovative nature docu-series”.
They currently live in the Californian region of Santa Barbara, having moved there from Los Angeles earlier in the year.
