Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have announced they will be spending some time away from their royal duties. The couple’s decision comes as they strive for a more “private” life with their son, Archie Mountbatten. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced they would split their forthcoming time off between the UK and US.
When will Harry and Meghan leave the UK for the US?
According to a royal source, Meghan and Harry will take time off after they have completed their current schedule of royal appearances.
The source told The Times: “The Duke and Duchess have a full schedule of engagements and commitments until mid-November, after which they will be taking some much-needed family time.”
Their “much-needed family time” will last for six weeks.

Sources expect the couple will bring Archie Mountbatten Windsor to the US for his first Thanksgiving.
This year, Thanksgiving is on November 27, so Meghan and Harry will likely land in the US before then.
The Duke and Duchess are then tipped to return to the UK for Christmas at Sandringham with the Queen.
While in the US with Meghan’s family, Prince Harry will carry out a project of his own.
Prince Harry is expected to carry out work with Oprah Winfrey during his time in America.
The Prince and the famed American talkshow host have teamed up to deliver a documentary based around mental health.
While Harry prepares to work on the upcoming film, the recent documentary of his and Meghan’s royal tour in South Africa has allegedly caused concern among Royal Family members.
One Kensington Palace source told the BBC Prince William was “worried” about his brother, and said the Sussex family was in a “fragile place”.

In the documentary, titled ‘Harry & Meghan: An African Journey’, the couple admitted they had both experienced pressure and stress while on the job.
Both touched on the “pressure” cast by their public life, specifically by the media, and Meghan admitted her friends warned her against marrying Harry as the British tabloids would “destroy” her life.
Harry said the public part of his life was “something that I have to manage”, and he needed to put on a “brave face”.
He said: “Part of this job is putting on a brave face but, for me and my wife, there is a lot of stuff that hurts, especially when the majority of it is untrue.”
The Prince also admitted he and William had taken different paths, but said he would “always be there” for his brother.
He said: “We are brothers.
“We will always be brothers.
“We are certainly on different paths at the moment but I will always be there for him as I know he will always be there for me.”
