Meghan Markle admitted last month she “struggled” to get used to the expectations of royal life while adapting to her new role as wife and mother. The Duchess and Prince Harry took a break from royal duty to spend up to six weeks focussing on their young son Archie away from public scrutiny and to spend time with Meghan’s mum Doria Ragland in Los Angeles. And while the Duchess of Sussex was away, she has received an offer of help from another outsider who recently joined another Royal Family.
American Shaman Durek Verret said he asked his girlfriend Princess Märtha-Louise of Norway to get in touch with her British “cousin” to offer their support as the couple faces increasing attention.
Speaking to Tatler, Shaman Verret said: “I told my girlfriend to reach out to them, so we can all have a family pow-wow because they’re cousins.
“The fascinating thing is that I had maybe seven meltdowns, and then I learned very quickly, thanks to my girlfriend and her family, that this is a crash course and you need to learn how to deal with this.”
The Norwegian princess confirmed their relationship with a post on Instagram in May, three years after Märtha-Louise divorced her husband of 14 years Ari Behn.

Märtha-Louise and Prince Harry are second cousins twice removed as the princess’ father, King Harald V, and Queen Elizabeth II share a great-grandfather in King Edward VII.
While the Duke of Sussex remains an active member of the Royal Family through his commitment to charity, the Norwegian princess was stripped of her Her Royal Highness style shortly before her marriage in 2002 to allow her more freedom as she launched her personal business.
Meghan Markle and Harry announced last month they had received the Queen’s blessing not to spend the Christmas holidays at Sandringham this year as the couple is believed to have wanted to spend some time in private with their son Archie.
A US-based source told Entertainment Tonight that royals wanted the pair to feel supported in their decision.

To mark Thanksgiving, Harry and Meghan took to Instagram to wish their fans a wonderful holiday.
The Duke and Duchess have not confirmed whether they will spend Christmas in the US or at their private home in Windsor, Frogmore Cottage, but a statement from Buckingham Palace said the couple’s decision was “in line with precedent set previously by other members of the royal family, and has the support of Her Majesty The Queen”.

A friend of William told Closer Weekly the Duke of Cambridge believes Harry and Meghan are in need of quality time away from the spotlight.
William and Kate are said to be “relieved” at the decision.
This is thought to be due to the struggles Harry and Meghan have dealt with one the past few months, including an onslaught of criticism after the Duchess of Sussex collaborated with Vogue Magazine for their September issue.
